In battle of undefeated teams, Angelo State Rams power past Texas A&M-Kingsville 34-7 on Homecoming
Rams remain one of three undefeated college football teams in Texas along with Texas Christian and D3 Powerhouse Trinity University in San Antonio
San Angelo, Texas - In front of 5,247 raucous fans at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field, the #2 ranked Angelo State Rams defeated longtime conference rivals #15 ranked Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas in Angelo State’s homecoming game.
With the win, Angelo State improved to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play while Kingsville fell to 7-1 and 5-1 in LSC play.
The Rams’ defense held the Javelinas offense off the board as Kingville’s only touchdown was Amos Coleman’s pick six of Angelo State Quarterback, Zach Bronkhorst in the first quarter. Their defense held the Hogs to 145 total yards while forcing two turnovers.
Eric Rascoe, redshirt freshman defensive back from San Antonio Warren, led the Rams defense with 10 tackles.
Zach Bronkhorst, Angelo State’s senior quarterback from Galveston, threw for 183 yards and 2 touchdowns.
For the Javelinas, Jacob Cavazos, the redshirt sophomore quarterback from Weslaco, threw for 25 yards.
