San Angelo, Texas - After an emotional entrance from Angelo State First Lady Maria Hawkins and a remembrance of a Uvalde family member, the Angelo State Ram football team defeated West Texas A&M in front of a crowd of 4,283 at LeGrand Stadium at First Community Credit Union Field on Saturday night. After a slow start for both teams, the Rams scored 28 points in the second half to the Buffs’ 7 points to end the score 34 - 14.
Zach Bronkhorst passed for 279 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The Rams were led in rushing by Nate Omayebu III, who had 97 yards and one touchdown.
The Rams, who improved to 4 - 0 and 2 - 0 in conference play, travel to Western Oregon for a Lone Star Conference(?) matchup.
