Our biggest crisis

I’ll be honest. I would much rather give my opinions on Justice Thomas’ wife or do a plain ole’ news story, but the recent death of a college athlete and anxiety depression at an all-time high. Anxiety and depression are rising significantly.

You may be asking why you should believe me: well, I have depression; I have anxiety. I have actually been in a psych ward twice: Once in Denton and Once at Mount Sinai by Columbus Circle.

If I’m honest, it feels like a jail cell to me. That fact is that I was taken there both times involuntarily.

For the longest time, I would blame the person who did, but in all honesty they were right.

Stubborn, Stubborn Me. I often tell my therapist that I hate that most growth happens after failure. That is what happens.

For your students who have signed up on this email list:

visit the counselor at school, or talk to a close friend. I always like to hear “Oh really, i deal with too.” It’s hard. Self-care is needed. How do I know? Well, I’m experiencing it now, and it’s hard but worth it.

Quickhitters:

  • I will be at the San Angelo City Council Meeting this morning. Will write about later.
